James Hall and Catherine Campbell lived in Haddingtonshire and Berwickshire during the 19th century. Catherine originated from Strachur, Argyleshire where her first son, John was born. James and Catherine had five other children born mainly in Berwickshire: Margaret, Jane, William, James and Catherine. The family were employed in farming.
