(Mc)Skimming family DNA

Samples of DNA have been tested by www.ancestry.co.uk and uploaded to gedmatch.com

The results give me an ethnicity estimate of 89% from Scotland, 9% from Ireland and 2% from Wales.

Ancestry have suggested quite a few matches with the DNA of other members, many of whom live in USA or Canada , their ancestors having emigrated in the 18th or 19th centuries.

Matches of interest are:

Skimming / McSkimming

There is an identifiable match through Thomas Skimming and his wife Henrietta Aitken to an ancestry member with the user Id of MelanieSinclair.
Thomas and Henrietta's daughter Henrietta married John Paterson Corson in 1879.
John Paterson Corson is related to the Corson line below.
It is likely that there is more Corson / Chisholm genes in this match than McSkimming.

There is also an identifiable match through John Skimming and his wife Jessie Gemmell to an ancestry member with the user Id of Bruce Purdie.
John and Jessie's grandaughter, Mary Barclay McSkimming Neil, married William Purdie in 1924.

Corson

There are Identifiable matches through the Chisholm / Martin / Corson line to ancestry members with the IDs of melaniesinclair and jansaunders11.
My feeling is that my Corson DNA is stronger than the my McSkimming DNA, either that or more Corson family descendants have had their DNA tested than the McSkimming family.
