Thomas Skimming was born in Anwoth in 1854, he married Agnes Toul in 1875 in Girthon and died in 1932 in Gatehouse.
Thomas had changed his surname from Skimming to McSkimming by 1875 when he married.
Thomas and Agnes had at least 8 Children, most of whom were born in Gatehouse
The family all lived in Birtwhistle Street, Gatehouse of Fleet which is in the parish of Girthon, they are listed in the 1891 and 1901 censuses.
Thomas and Agnes's son, James (b.1887), emigrated to Canada before 1920 when he married Mildred Long in Quebec.
