Thomas Skimine or Skimming was born in Sorbie, he and his wife Henrietta Aitken lived in the Minnigaff and Kirkmabreck area of Kirkcudbrightshire between the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Thomas's occupation was agricultural labourer. Thomas and Henrietta had five children: John, William, Thomas, James and Henry.
